Product Description
YOKOHAMA TRANSMISSION 85W-140 GL-5 is a multigrade gear lubricant for heavy-duty drivetrain components exposed to high loads and elevated operating temperatures. Its extreme-pressure and anti-wear properties help protect hypoid gear surfaces under high contact pressure and shock loading. The SAE 140 operating-temperature grade supports a load-bearing lubricating film, while thermal and oxidation stability help limit oil thickening and deposit formation. Rust, corrosion and foam control support dependable lubrication of gears and bearings.
Application Areas
For trucks, tractors, buses and suitable off-highway equipment requiring SAE 85W-140 and API GL-5 in differentials, axles, hypoid gears and final drives. Construction, mining and agricultural equipment may use it in gear systems with the same viscosity and performance requirements. Manual transmissions and auxiliary gear units should be considered only when the equipment specification calls for GL-5 and SAE 85W-140.
