YOKOHAMA IMPROVE SAE 5W-30 SP/RC is a fully synthetic engine oil developed for modern gasoline and compatible hybrid powertrains requiring a fuel-economy-focused lubricant. Its low-friction characteristics are intended to support efficient engine operation while maintaining a protective lubricating film over a wide range of operating temperatures. Selected base oil and additive technology is designed to help control wear, oxidation, sludge and piston deposits. The API SP Resource Conserving and ILSAC GF-6A performance framework includes requirements addressing low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) and timing-chain wear in turbocharged gasoline direct-injection engines.
