ACEA Performance Class for Motor Oils
ACEA classification consists of a letter followed by a number. The letters indicate engine type: A for petrol car engines, B for light diesel car engines, C for engines with catalytic converters and particulate filters (low-SAPS oils), and E for heavy-duty diesel engines.
The numbers indicate the performance level: 1 means fuel economy, 2 means standard use, and 3 means high-performance and long-drain applications.
